About Letty

My name is Letty, creator of Letty’s Home Cooking food blogger. I started my blog in order to share my passion for traditional Mexican cuisine, respect for ancestral culture and food. All contributed to my love of food.

In my family the taste for good food was always nourished from mothers to daughters. I grew up in a healthy natural and rural countryside in the northern region of Mexico, I had a very humble upbringing, but very lucky my mom taught me the roots of ethnic cuisine. From there on, it is just a lot of creating with simple seasonal ingredients and vegetables, giving the dishes fresh and delicious twists of ethnicity.
Daily as a young child I was involved in a few outside cooking duties to help my mom. Before l knew, long pressure was placed on me by my mom to help care for the next born child, so she can do her daily chores and before I knew it, I now had seven more siblings. I am proud to say that I excelled at all my duties and I mastered my way in the kitchen.

This is where my passion for following the traditional Mexican cuisine and creating new recipes has grown in me immensely since an early age. The Mexican culture and the traditional cuisine have passed on for many generations to my family. It is in the best interest for young ladies to learn cooking skills as it is customary in our culture before marriage.

I continued the trend in meeting my potential, taking on a new challenge to open my own restaurant. This was something I wanted to do for a very long time and I jumped to the perfect opportunity and invested my time and money to achieve this.
My goal is to develop simple ways to teach and encourage you to try and experience a culinary adventure and first cook a simple dish and challenge yourself with more elaborate ones. This will inspire you to cook Mexican food that is approachable, flavorful and family friendly meals you will enjoy making in as little as 30 minutes.

The best ways to understand the Mexican heritage is to understand its food. Authentic Mexican food is more than just beans and peppers -it is something worth trying. I invite you to experience and compare the flavors- Mexico is a diverse country indeed.

Thank you for visiting my site and enjoy the recipes.
