Beef liver smothered with onion and gravy.

When I was a child my mother used to cook beef liver with onions every sunday morning. The smell of cooking liver was very strong that I refused to eat it. My mother changed the recipe adding garlic, onion, peppers and cilantro and then add it gravy, it was very good!

Ingredients:
1 pound beef liver cut small pieces
6 garlic cloves minced
1/2 sliced onion
1/2 sp of black pepper
1/2 sp cumin
1/2 sp salt
2 serrano peppers
1 pkg of brown gravy or cornstarch
2 cups of water
Instructions:
In a large skillet at medium high add the liver and fry for 10 minutes or until looks dark brown and no water is left. (cover with a lid while simmer)
Add the garlic, onions and spices stirring for few minutes while mixing the ingredients well. Add the the water, cilantro and serranos, stirring and covering with lid to cook for 15 minutes or until the meat is tender.
Dissolve the brown gravy in water and add to the liver. Wait for 5 minutes to cook the gravy and serve in a plate with fried beans and tortillas.
